Saved Places

When you save a location as a favorite, the location name and narration are stored locally on your device. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it.

Usage Data

We collect anonymous usage statistics to improve the app, including:

• Number of narrations requested (for rate limiting)
• General geographic regions (city-level, not exact locations)
• App crashes and errors

How We Use Your Data

• Generate Content: Your location is sent to AI services (Claude, OpenAI) to create historical narrations
• Text-to-Speech: Narration text is sent to OpenAI to generate audio
• Rate Limiting: We track daily usage to ensure fair access for all users

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Anthropic (Claude): For generating historical content
• OpenAI: For text-to-speech audio generation
• Cloudflare: For secure API hosting
• Apple MapKit: For map display and location search

These services have their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review them.

Data Retention

• Location data: Not stored after generating your narration
• Rate limit counters: Reset daily at midnight UTC
• Saved places: Stored locally on your device until you delete them

Your Rights

You can:

• Disable location access in your device settings (app will not function)
• Delete saved places at any time
• Delete the app to remove all local data
• Contact us to request deletion of any server-side data

Children's Privacy

HearHere History is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
